Brazil – Losses at Biosev breach U$448 million [Registered]

Biosev, Brazil’s second-largest publicly traded sugar cane milling group owned by Louis Dreyfus, posted a final quarter net loss of 1 billion reais ($448 million) on 10th June. This is some 449 % greater than the January-March period a year ago, reports Reuters. Biosev had a net loss of 1.47 billion reais in the 2013/14 season that closed on March 31, topping the loss of 620 million reais the year before, the company said in a securities filing. Frost damage to cane in June 2013 at Biosev’s expansion projects in Mato Grosso do Sul has added to the company’s woes.…
