Brazil imports ethanol from US amidst high sugar prices [Registered]

Soaring sugar prices and a poor 2010 harvest have meant Brazil has resorted to importing ethanol in a dramatic turn of events. Unica sources confirmed that Brazil has been importing US produce, noting: “This year Brazil has imported approximately 150 million litres of ethanol from the United States.” This is the second time the country has turned to importing ethanol. Most of the imports come from the US.
