Brazil – Ethanol production expected to increase by around 3 billion litres next years [Registered]

Ethanol production is likely to increase next year to 25.5 billion litres from this year’s 22.7 billion litres, according to a recent USDA’s Gain Report. The Agricultural Trade Office (ATO)/Sao Paul projects the 2013 total bioethanol production at 25.5 billion liters, up 12 percent from the 2012 estimate (22.7 billion liters). Ethanol for fuel production is forecast at 22.5 billion liters for 2013, a 2.5 billion liters increase over 2012 (19.97 billion liters). This will be supported by an increase in cane production. ATO estimates 2012/13 Brazilian sugarcane production at 565 million metric tons (mmt), up 4 mmt from 2011/12.…
