Brazil – Cosan bids U$3 billion to buy rail operator [Registered]

In order to address the significant logistics problem in the country created by unreliable transport networks, Cosan, the biggest sugar producer in Brazil has bid U$ 3 billion to buy railway operator America Latina Logistica (ALL). The deal would greatly facilitate shipments of sugar. Currentl, a lack of railways forces companies to rely on a network of potholed roads while bottlenecks at the ports can hold up shipments for days at huge costs.
