Brazil – Adecoagro secures U$241 million loan to build sugar-ethanol plant [Registered]

Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Economico e Social, Brazil’s development bank, recently approved a 488.6 million-real loan ($241 million) to Adecoagro SA for the construction of sugar-ethanol mill. The mill, planned for Ivinhema, Mato Grosso do Sul, in the country’s center-west region, will have a processing capacity of 4.1 million tonnes. The investment includes installation 120-megawatt cogen power plant and associated transmission line to export surplus power. The plant is scheduled to be operational next year.
