Brazil – tax on sugar exports to channel more into ethanol a possibility [Registered]

Brazil is considering imposing a tax on sugar exports, a move which would tie-in with possible steps to regulate ethanol production. The country’s Valor Economico newspaper said that a sugar export tax might be imposed to encourage mills to convert cane into ethanol, as opposed to sugar.
