Belarus intends to build a new sugar factory [Registered]

Belarus is interested in attracting foreign investors in the construction of a new beet sugar factory in the Mogilev region according to the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich. Currently there are four sugar plants in Skidel, zhabinka, Slutsk and Haradzeja run by the state concern Belgospischeprom. Plan is to expand country’s sugar production to 720,000 tonnes by 2015. Domestic demand is around 300,000 tonnes and surplus is exported to Russia and Ukraine. Polish investors are reported to be in talks with authorities of Mogilev region regarding the factory.…
