Asian sugar market busy – led by the developments in the Chinese market [Registered]

International sugar dealers reported an active Asian market on 18 Jan ’11, observing that a few cargoes of Indian refined sugar had changed hands at a small discount to London futures. Dealers also noted that premiums for Thai whites softened on the prospect of more sales from the subcontinent. Among raw sugar, premiums for Thai sugar edged up following a drop in futures prices.
