‘Artificial leaf’ that is better than a natural one [Registered]

Photosynthesis involves converting sunlight into chemical energy. Photosynthetic efficiency of intensively produced agricultural crops is around 3%. Finding a way to mimic the process artificially, efficiently and cheaply has baffled researchers for some time. Speaking at the 241st National Meeting of the American Chemical Society, Daniel Nocera, a professor at MIT unveiled a new device, still in early development phase, which he calls “artificial leaf”.
