Archer Daniels Midland commences production of industrial grade biobased propylene glycol [Registered]

Archer Daniels Midland announced in early November that it has successfully started producing biobased propylene glycol, feedstock for which is corn sugar. The propylene glycol meets United States Pharmacopeia (USP) and USDA Certified Biobased Product Label standards. ADM claims to be the first company worldwide to make a biobased propylene glycol that complies with USP requirements. ADM’s propylene glycol USP excipient grade has also earned the USDA Certified Biobased Product Label, ensuring the product contains 100% biobased content.
