The biobased chemicals start-up Draths was recently acquired by Amyris. John Melo, CEO of Amyris recently confirmed this to investors. Financial details were not disclosed. Draths proprietary fermentation technology optimally convert sugars into chemical intermediates caprolactam and purified terephthalic acid from its muconic acid technology platform. The deal is considered a “good fit” for Amyris, which has secured feedstock access, and has a pipeline of collaborators that would be interested in exploiting Draths technology.… Login to continue
